Movie Details

The movie details page shows everything Sovereign knows about a title, and is the starting point for playback.

Movie details

  • Poster and Play - the large Play button starts the highest-quality file immediately in the video player. Once you’ve watched part of the movie, it reads Resume with the time you stopped at, and a Restart button beside it starts again from the beginning.
  • Title, release date, and favorite - the star toggle next to the title adds or removes the movie from your Favorites.
  • Genres - chips naming each genre the movie is filed under.
  • Synopsis - the plot overview, under the genres.
  • Scores and details - the content rating, critic scores, TMDb popularity, the release date, a link to the movie on TMDb, and when it was added to and last updated in your library.
  • Series - when the movie belongs to a film series, this links to that collection.
  • Cast - the director and billed cast, when available from the metadata provider. Each card opens that person’s page.
  • Related Movies - a scrollable row of similar titles.

The Files tab replaces the scores, details and series link with the file list. Everything else on the page stays where it is.

The Files tab lists each video file available for the movie.

Movie files

Each row shows the file’s resolution, size, and the date it was added. For every file you can:

  • Expand details - inspect the file’s path, the media source it came from, whether its trickplay previews are ready, and its media information: video and audio codecs, bitrates, HDR format, audio languages, subtitles, and so on.
  • Play - start playback of that specific file, rather than letting Sovereign pick the highest-quality one.
